Children’s Friend and Family Services THIRD CENTURY CAPITAL CAMPAIGN has reached the million dollar mark thanks to a generous grant from North Shore friends Peter and Carolyn Lynch.
Spring 2008 - The grant arrived on the heels of the agency’s Opening Celebration which unveiled its new facility on 110 Boston Street in Salem. The $1.3 million dollar campaign will help fund construction of the new facility, the headquarters of the organization that helps over 5,000 children and families in Essex County annually. Lynches’ Gift Boosts Skate Park Fund Raising
The Back Bay Sun - October 26, 2007 - Carolyn and Peter Lynch recently announced a challenge grant of $500,000 from the Lynch Foundation to the Charles River Conservancy for the skate park under the Leonard Zakim Bridge in East Cambridge. "Having seen what sports did for our girls ... we see the Charles River Skate Park as something that helps all children," said Carolyn Lynch.
The grant requires a match of $100,000 and will bring the total amount of money raised to just over $2 million, significantly closer to the project's $2.3 million fundraising goal. The Lynches were honored at an October 18 lunch for their generosity.
Lynch Foundation to Endow Nursing PhD Scholarships at UMass Boston
By Ed Hayward of The University Reporter - April, 2007 - The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Boston has received a $500,000 grant from The Lynch Foundation to fund fellowships for students in the university’s fast-track nursing PhD program, which is designed to build a diverse pool of Ph.D.-prepared nurses focused on cancer nursing care, health disparities and health policy research, the university has announced. Skatepark Funding Keep Rollin in
By Donna Goodison of The Boston Herald - March 24, 2007 - Supporters of the $2.3 million Charles River Skatepark have raised more than half of the cost of the project, which tourism officials say could be a regional magnet and attract marquee sporting events such as the X Games. "There are areas that are for less experienced skateboarders, but this is a skate park where even the most experienced skateboarder or BMXer will find a challenge," said Renata von Tscharner, president of the Charles River Conservancy.
